7th Pay Commission: Great news for government employees, DA increased by 8% in one go; When will I get the benefits?

But before this, the news has come to please the government employees of Gujarat. Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel has announced an 8 percent hike in DA/DR for state government employees and pensioners under the Seventh Pay Commission.

9.50 lakh employees and pensioners benefitted

In the order issued by the government, it has been said that about 9.50 lakh employees and pensioners of the state government have been brought under the purview of the 7th Pay Commission. These employees will get the benefit of increase in dearness allowance and dearness relief. The 8 percent increase in DA will be implemented by the government in two parts. The first four percent DA will be effective from July 1, 2022. While the remaining 4 percent increase in DA will be applicable from January 1, 2023. The increase in DA has been done as per the rules of the Central Government.

Balance to be paid in three installments

The past due will be released by the government in three installments. The first installment of arrears will be given along with the salary for the month of June. Similarly, the second and third installment will be given along with the salary of October 2023.

It was told by the government that the increase in DA will put an additional burden of Rs 4,516 crore on the exchequer. Earlier, the Gujarat government had announced three per cent DA in August 2022. It was implemented from 1 January 2022.

Let us tell you that at present 42 percent DA is being given to the employees by the central government. The next DA will be announced by the Center from July 1. This time DA is expected to increase by 4 percent. In this way, the DA of central employees is expected to increase to 46 percent.
