New Delhi: Delhi Police reached the house of former Congress President Rahul Gandhi at 10.30 am today. Special CP Sagarpreet Hooda reached today in connection with the notice sent to Rahul. The police had issued a notice on the Srinagar statement. Special CP Sagarpreet said that the message has been given to his staff. The statement was given in Srinagar, so what is the role of Delhi Police in this? In response to this question, the police officer said that the yatra had also passed through Delhi. I myself was present there during the visit. We had a lot of police officers. Because Rahul Gandhi ji lives here and the yatra also passed through here. In such a situation, we want that if there is any such Victim, then we should get information about it. If they are from Delhi, we will start the legal process immediately. If the victim is from some other state, then we will also talk about him.

The Special CP further said that the statement given was widely spread in the social media. We saw him. We internally saw the videos during the yatra in Delhi to see if there were such women who were crying and met Rahul Gandhi ji. The police officer said that nothing of this kind was found in our investigation. After that we thought of discussing this with Rahul Gandhi. But he had gone abroad. As soon as he arrived, we requested him to inform us about him so that he would not be harmed further. Many a times what happens is that if someone is a victim, if the legal process is not initiated in time, he may continue to be harassed. There may be some women in it who are minors. POCSO Act may also apply in that. We had come to Rahul ji’s house to get all this information.

In fact, the Delhi Police had issued a notice to Rahul Gandhi over his remarks in which he had allegedly said that women are still being sexually harassed. Officials had told that taking cognizance of the social media post, the Delhi Police had sent some questions. The police had asked Rahul Gandhi to provide information about women who had told them about sexual harassment. According to the police, Rahul Gandhi had said in Srinagar during the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ that I have heard that women are being sexually assaulted. The police had said in the notice on this that they should give information about these women so that they can be given protection.
