New Delhi: In the Shraddha murder case, the Delhi Police filed a charge sheet in the court on Tuesday. Police said that statements of more than 150 people have been recorded in the 6,629-page charge sheet. In the charge sheet, the police have told about Shraddha’s murder, stating that on May 18, the day of the murder, Shraddha had come to meet a friend at a rented house in Mehrauli. His live-in partner and murder accused Aftab was not happy with this. There was some argument between the two regarding this matter. After which Aftab killed his live-in partner. After killing, the accused cut Shraddha’s body into 35 pieces with a saw and knife, which were dumped in the forests of Mehrauli, Gurugram and Maharashtra. Most of the cut pieces of the dead body were thrown in the forests of Mehrauli-Chhatarpur. Aftab Poonawala has been made the main accused in this.

The court directed that it would consider the final report of the police on February 7 and that the accused be produced before the court in person on that day. During this, Aftab also expressed his desire to change his lawyer. In the last few hearings, Advocate MS Khan appeared on behalf of the accused. He told NBT, Aftab wants him to meet him once in every 15 days, whereas, he has not met him for the last one month. Khan claimed that he would soon go to the jail to meet Aftab.

In the matter, Joint Police Commissioner of Southern Range Meenu Chowdhary said that on Tuesday the police filed the charge sheet in the Shraddha murder case in the court. The Mumbai Police had lodged a missing report of Shraddha at the Mehrauli police station. While probing the case, the Delhi Police took the statement of Shraddha’s father. On the basis of this, Shraddha’s investigation was started by registering a case of kidnapping in the matter. It was told that Shraddha was last seen in Mehrauli area. She was staying here with her friend Aftab Poonawala.

After this the dead body was cut. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the South Delhi Police formed 9 teams to investigate the matter. Starting the investigation, the police recovered some chopped pieces of Shraddha’s body from the forests of Chhatarpur and Gurugram. Some knives, clothes and other things were also recovered. In the case, after conducting narco and polygraph tests of Aftab, the police also got them investigated by taking voice samples. Along with this, CDR of mobile phone, footage of CCTV cameras installed in Chhatarpur and Gurugram were also seized, in which Aftab appeared.

DNA test of recovered bones and other evidence was also done. FSL Rohini was also investigated in many cases. Reports were also taken by sending samples to Hyderabad Lab and AIIMS. Police said that using scientific method, a lot of digital, electronic and other evidence was also collected in the case. In which evidence was also collected from laptops, mobile phones, CCTV cameras, cameras and some social media. Along with the CDR, evidence was also matched according to the GPS location of the accused. According to all the evidence and circumstances recovered in the case, the police filed a charge sheet in the court.
