Assam BJP will further improve its performance in 2024 Lok Sabha elections… CM Himanta Biswa Sarma claims

Morigaon: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said that the BJP will improve its performance in the state in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. However, he refused to give an estimate of how many seats the BJP could win. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won nine out of 14 Lok Sabha seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, its best ever performance in the northeastern state.

Speaking to reporters after the party’s state executive meeting here, the Assam CM said the discussion here was not entirely election-oriented. But when it comes to strengthening the organization, the issue of elections also comes up. When asked about the prospects of the party in the next Lok Sabha elections, the Chief Minister said that the party will have its own assessment, mine own. It (result) will be better than before.
