In the video going viral, Vijay Sethupathi is seen exiting the airport, while the attacker is seen running towards him from behind.

The man was drunk, was caught by the security personnel
The agency’s report said that the unidentified assailant was in an inebriated state and was creating nuisance at the airport. The attacker was caught by the security personnel immediately after the incident. During this, a minor argument also broke out between the two sides. National Award winner Vijay Sethupathi is hurt by this incident. However, no concrete reason for this palace has been revealed so far.

A report in ‘Pinkvilla’ states that a personal staff of Vijay Sethupathi was clearing the way for the actor at the airport, during which he accidentally pushed the man. In anger, this unknown person chased them and, seeing the opportunity, attacked them from behind. In the video, this man is seen kicking Vijay Sethupathi. It is said that after the arrest of the security personnel, the person later apologized and then the matter was resolved in this way. The apex court has said that the oppression of SCs and STs on the part of upper castes is a “depressing reality”. The Court said that if a reasonable settlement is reached between the victim and the accused before conviction under the SC-ST Act, the Constitutional Courts can quash the case.

Supreme Court quashes 1994 sentence
Hearing a case, a bench of Chief Justice of India N V Ramana and Justices Surya Kant and Hema Kohli set aside the 1994 sentence under the SC-ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act on the basis of an agreement reached between the convict and the complainant. The Supreme Court said, ‘This Act is a recognition of the depressing reality that despite taking several measures, SCs/STs continue to be victims of various atrocities at the hands of the upper castes.

The apex court bench on the SC/ST Act observed that generally, while dealing with offenses arising out of special laws like the SC/ST Act, the court would be extremely circumspect in its approach.
