64 lakh 15 thousand was looted by taking the staff hostage in an office in Lahori Gate area. A woman turned out to be the mastermind of the robbery. The woman wanted to tour America with her husband. She carried out the plot of robbery with the help of her husband and an employee friend of the same office. The police have arrested four accused including the couple. The looted money has been recovered from the accused. The accused did recce for two days before committing the crime.
According to DCP Anto Alphonse, the SHO Jarnail Singh’s team scanned the technical surveillance and footage of more than 200 CCTV cameras during the investigation, when the accused came under the grip. The accused have been identified as 35-year-old Parvez alias Salman, resident of Shastri Nagar, 48-year-old Paresh Patel, resident of Chandni Chowk, 39-year-old Seema and 42-year-old Abdul, resident of Shastri Nagar. Among the accused, Parvez has seven criminal cases against him.
Paresh Patel is an employee of the office, with whose connivance the robbery was carried out. Actually, Jasu Bhai Patel’s Kucha Ghasi Ram is a courier firm in Chandni Chowk, whose office is in Lahori Gate area. On the afternoon of September 11, he was sitting at the shop with two of his staff, Paresh Patel and Hiren. Then three armed miscreants entered. He had a pistol and a knife in his hand. Two miscreants threatened them and the third robbed Rs 10 lakh kept in the cupboard and the money kept in other bags and the miscreants fled. The amount looted was 64 lakh 15 thousand rupees.
A case of robbery and Arms Act was registered at Lahori Gate police station. He took out the CDR of the mobile of the victim employees and analyzed it, after which the police investigation came to a halt on Paresh Patel. On September 13, the police reached the one who, during interrogation, admitted that he had a hand in the incident. After this the rest of the accused were caught.
