Rescue operations continued for 27 hours on Thursday, the second day of cloudburst in tribal districts of Lahaul-Spiti and Kullu in Himachal Pradesh. NDRF team has now taken over from Mandi along with ITBP and BRO. In the rescue operation on the second day, not a single one of the seven missing in both the districts was recovered. A total of more than 100 people including police, fire department, local people are engaged in the rescue operation since 8 am on Thursday. In addition to Tonjing drain of Lahaul, Udaipur, Jahlma, rescue operation was carried out throughout the day in Brahmaganga drain of Kullu district. Police and local people searched for the missing people at places from Bhuntar to Manikarn on the banks of Parvati river. Public Works Department, Jal Shakti Department, BRO have suffered crores of damages due to rain in both the districts. On the other hand, in Chamba district, two footbridges, 20 cows, 5 mules have been washed away in tribal area Pangi in 24 hours of rain.
