There has been a Twitter war between Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. A day before this, there was a heated debate between the power ministers of both the states regarding the model of electricity rates in Goa. In fact, for the last few days, the round of allegations and counter-allegations between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is preparing for the Goa Assembly elections, is going on. The online debate between the two chief ministers started after Sawant accused the Aam Aadmi Party of indulging in cheap politics and defaming Goa’s politicians.
Goa Chief Minister Sawant has tweeted from his official Twitter handle that the Aam Aadmi Party has always been indulging in cheap politics through constant protests and theatrics. But to say that the people of Goa are third class politicians is an insult to great sons like Bhausaheb Bandodkar, Jack Sequeira, Manohar Bhai Parrikar, Rajendra Arlekar or Shripad Bhau Naik. Aam Aadmi Party is free to campaign for its political gains, but coming to Goa and insulting our leaders is unacceptable.
Kejriwal, whose party is aiming to cement its position in Goa politics after a dismal performance in the 2017 state assembly elections, responded by saying that it was unfair to compare the current set of politicians with past political stalwarts. You are insulting the present set of politicians by comparing them with such political greats, he wrote. In the present BJP there is neither the greatness of Bhausaheb Bandodkar, nor the integrity of Dr. Jack Sikera nor the vision of Manohar Parrikar.
In another tweet, CM Kejriwal wrote, Bhausaheb Bandodkar has been insulted by the way MLAs have been bought and sold. Dr. Jacques Sequeira did not fight to see Goa’s votes being bought and sold. Manohar Parrikar did not work tirelessly to see Congress MLAs being sold in bulk.

In response, Sawant accused Kejriwal of being selective in his comments and accused the Delhi CM of having links with the same politicians he had criticized. Sawant said Arvind ji, you are being selective as always. You have neglected our current leaders, whom I have mentioned in my tweet, who have risen from the grassroots level. They are the epitome of honesty and humility.
