Opposition will stand united against government on important issues: Kharge
The opposition was united against the Center on the issue of Pegasus espionage, farmers’ agitation and inflation inside and outside the Rajya Sabha. Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge said, “No matter how stubborn the government may adopt, we will stand in solidarity against the Center and raise our voice in Parliament on important issues related to the people.”
In the Upper House on Tuesday also, the opposition had given notices for discussion on Pegasus, agricultural law, inflation and other issues. When the house was adjourned, Mallikarjun Kharge led Anand Sharma, DMK’s Tiruchi Shiva, Trinamool Congress’s Sukhendu, CPI’s Binoy Vishwam, CPM’s Ilemaram Karim, RJD’s Manoj Jha, Aam Aadmi Party’s Sanjay Singh and Samajwadi Party’s Ram Gopal Yadav. He came out and made his point.
Kharge said, we raised Pegasus but the government is not ready for discussion. After all, what is the government hiding which is avoiding discussion on the Pegasus issue. This is a dictatorship, our PM does not want to resolve any issue democratically. We are also ready for talks. You create an atmosphere about all the party leaders, we will talk together.
DMK MP Tiruchi Siva said, “Opposition wants discussion on issues directly related to the people of the country and answers from the government but our side is being blacked out in the house, our mics are being switched off.” At the same time, CPI MP Binay Vishwam said, the rules of the house are being ignored.
