Health workers in Punjab are safe before a possible third wave of Corona. In fact, in the sero survey of ICMR, antibodies have been found in 83.25 percent of health workers and 63.15 percent of the population of the state. ICMR had conducted sero survey in four districts of Punjab.

A total of 400 samples of health workers were taken in Gurdaspur, Ludhiana, Patiala and Jalandhar in June for the fourth sero survey of Punjab. According to the report, antibodies to the corona virus have been found in a total of 67.2 percent of the people of the four districts. Antibodies have been found in 87 percent health workers of Gurdaspur.
Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu also believes that according to the results of this survey, the presence of Kovid antibodies in people has been indicated which means that the cases were much higher than the figures reported in Punjab. In view of the possibility of spread of COVID in the population of Punjab, he has appealed that the instructions issued by the Punjab Government regarding COVID should be followed till the entire population is vaccinated with two doses.
Most at risk in Patiala
Patiala district of the state is at the highest risk during the third wave. According to the sero survey report, most samples were taken in Patiala but antibodies were found in only 52 percent of the people. According to the report, Patiala will have to increase the samples of corona virus in the coming days or will have to vaccinate more people in less time. Nearly the same number of samples were taken in Jalandhar, but antibodies have been found in 65.6 percent of the people.
