Mamata Banerjee Arrives In Delhi On Five Day Visit Today Meet With Pm Modi And Opposition Leaders

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee arrived in Delhi on her five-day visit on Monday amid the monsoon session of Parliament. This is her first visit to the national capital after assuming power in West Bengal for the third time and she is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.

According to the five-day visit schedule released by the Trinamool Congress, Mamata Banerjee will meet the Prime Minister on Tuesday at 4 pm. According to sources, Mamta is also likely to meet President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday. Apart from Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Banerjee is also scheduled to meet other Congress leaders including Kamal Nath, Anand Sharma and Abhishek Manu Singhvi.

On reaching Delhi, Mamata Banerjee met senior journalist Vineet Narayan on Monday evening at the residence of her nephew and Lok Sabha MP Abhishek Banerjee. Journalist Vineet Narayan had exposed the Jain diary in 1995-96 through his video magazine Kalachakra, in which there was mention of giving lakhs of rupees to senior leaders through hawala. Recently, Mamta had accused West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar of taking money through hawala. It is believed that his meeting with Vineet Narayan was in this regard.

According to sources, his schedule of meeting with opposition leaders has gone into turmoil. Mamta’s program to meet opposition leaders on Tuesday has come to a standstill due to the ban on entry of any person other than MPs in the Central Hall of Parliament due to the Kovid-19 protocol.
