The case of suicide of art director Raju Sapte has caught up in Maharashtra politics. The two leaders of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), who are named in this case, have also started uproar in the Federation. The federations are constantly trying that the leaders named in the FIR should not be connected with the federation. Federation’s PRO Shashikant Singh is saying that while taking the name of Federation of Western India Cine Employees Treasurer Gangeshwar Srivastava and General Secretary of the same organization Ashok Dubey as the named accused, the name of the Federation should not be taken because of FIR or Raju Sapte’s prior suicide record. The federation is not named in the video made.
However, in its letter submitted by the All India Cine Workers Union to the Maharashtra government, not only the association of these two named accused with the Federation has been highlighted, but in this letter the name of a big BJP leader of the state is also mentioned in Hindi film and media. These elements operating in the industry have been taken to protect them.
According to the police, it has come to the fore in the investigation so far that the accused named in the case Chandan Thackeray and Raju Sapte used to work in partnership. Thackeray allegedly cheated Sapte and harmed him in several schemes. The other accused demanded an extortion of Rs 10 lakh from Raju Sapte and demanded Rs 1 lakh from each of his new projects. These accused also took 2.5 lakh rupees from Raju. According to the FIR, the police have initiated action against the accused in serious cases of criminal conspiracy, abetment of suicide, cheating, breach of trust, extortion etc.
