A 34-year-old man who supplied vegetables at Pokhran Army Base Camp has been arrested by the police. It is alleged that this person used to take sensitive information from an army personnel in exchange for money. Then used to provide them to Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI.
A Delhi Police official said that he has a contract to supply vegetables to the army base camp in Pokhran for the last few years. Based on the information shared by the intelligence unit, the Crime Branch team of Delhi Police nabbed the suspect from Pokhran on Tuesday, a senior official said.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect used to obtain sensitive documents from an army officer posted in the army camp, he said. Then used to provide them to the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan.
The officer said that the army officer allegedly used to take money for every document. The police did not disclose further details and said that the investigation in the matter is on and the facts are being confirmed.
