UK-based Cairn Energy has secured the right to seize India’s government assets worth more than 20 million euros (about Rs 166 crore) in France in a long-running tax dispute.
A French tribunal has ordered the freezing of about 20 properties in central Paris. Cairn said it wanted an “amicable solution” to the $1.2 billion dispute. Cairn Energy, an oil and gas firm based in Edinburgh, Scotland, is in dispute with the Indian government over tax payment.
