Union Minister VK Singh has got a big relief from the Supreme Court. Supreme Court has dismissed a PIL seeking action against VK Singh on the LAC.
hear the news
The PIL had said that the retired general had claimed that India violated the LAC as many times as it believed. This statement was used by the Chinese to their advantage and blamed India for encroaching on its alleged territory. The Supreme Court asked the petitioner’s counsel, ‘If you do not like the statement of a minister, you file a petition and ask for its removal.’ “If he is not a good minister, the prime minister will look into it,” the bench said.
Opposition to VK Singh’s remarks
The petition had opposed Singh’s remarks that India had encroached across the LAC (Line of Actual Control) more frequently than the People’s Liberation Army, giving not only an opportunity to China but also India’s long standing position on the subject He also denied the ongoing official position.
