The affidavit, filed by Indian Embassy officials, states that his claim of relinquishing his citizenship of the country under the Indian Citizenship Act 1955 is erroneous. His application has been rejected.
Choksi’s Indian citizenship has not expired yet. The claim that he has given up Indian citizenship is contrary to the law of India and completely flawed. All the claims he is making about this are bogus.
Let me tell you, Mehul Choksi has been arrested for illegally entering Dominica. The High Court of Dominica has refused to grant him bail. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Indian Ministry of External Affairs have submitted details of serious fraud charges against Mehul Choksi in the Dominica High Court. On the other hand, Choksi’s lawyers say that he has given up his Indian citizenship, so he cannot be deported to India.
