Supreme Court Granted Interim Bail For Six Weeks To Accused Doctor Husband For Take Care Of His 3 Year Old Daughter

The Supreme Court has granted interim bail for six weeks to a doctor husband accused of dowry death to take care of his three-year-old daughter. The deceased was also a doctor. The girl has some ailments and it was claimed that no one is able to take care of her.

The father-in-law of the accused doctor also supported granting bail on the same ground. He had filed a case against the son-in-law for dowry death, harassment and other offences.

A vacation bench of Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice MR Shah decided to grant interim bail to the accused for six weeks, observing that the father-in-law (complainant) of the accused Dr. The bench made it clear that interim bail is being granted only because of the girl child.

The bench ordered listing of the Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed against the dismissal of the bail plea by the Allahabad High Court before the regular bench within six weeks.

Earlier during the hearing, senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for the accused, told the bench that the allegation of murder against his client was false. Everyone is unable to take care of the sick girl, so her client should be granted bail.

At the same time, he told that his client has a Kovid Hospital in Agra and his service is needed in this period of Corona crisis. During the hearing, the lawyer appearing for the father-in-law of the accused also said that the child is not being looked after, so he has no objection to being granted bail on this ground.

According to Deepti’s father, around Rs 1.5 crore was spent in the wedding. According to the FIR, Deepti was pressurized for dowry and was also beaten up. Deepti also had two miscarriages. After not having a child, she adopted a child.

The FIR also states that on August 3 last year, Dipti was beaten up by her husband and her in-laws and to save herself, Dipti was first admitted to a hospital in Agra. Then shifted to Faridabad hospital. After five days, Deepti died in the hospital. Earlier this case was being investigated by the UP Police but the court handed over the investigation to the CBI.
