A Class V student, who was affected by the Supreme Court’s interventions in the management of the coronavirus pandemic, wrote a letter to the Chief Justice praising the Supreme Court. The student had also sent a picture in the letter. The Chief Justice has thanked the student for her feelings.

Chief Justice of India NV Raman has praised a letter by a class V student from Kerala appreciating the intervention of the Supreme Court during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Chief Justice has sent a signed copy of the Constitution along with a letter to the student. In the letter, she wrote, ‘I am sure that you will become an alert, aware and responsible citizen and will contribute a lot in nation building.’
Lidvina Joseph, 10, from Thrissur, Kerala, wrote in the letter, “I am happy and proud that the honorable court has ordered oxygen supply and saved many lives. The Court has taken effective steps to reduce the rate of COVID-19 and mortality in our country, especially in Delhi. I thank you for this.’
In the letter, Lidwina Joseph had said that she is deeply concerned about the deaths due to Corona virus in Delhi and other parts of the country and was glad to see the apex court intervene to ease their suffering. The letter was also accompanied by a colored picture showing the judge striking the ‘head’ of the coronavirus with a hammer.
The student had also made a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi which was hanging on the wall behind the judge. The Chief Justice replied to Joseph saying, ‘I have received your beautiful letter, as well as a touching picture, which shows the judge at work.’ The Chief Justice said that she is very impressed with the way she keeps an eye on the happenings in the country.
