According to this report by the team of doctors of Delhi’s Vardhman Mahavir Medical College Safjarjung Hospital, corona vaccine should also be included in the routine vaccination of pregnant women.
According to Dr. Yamini, the head of this team, especially in countries like India, which are at high risk for pregnant women, this step must be taken. At present, vaccination has been left to the will of these women in most places, while there is evidence of pregnant women getting the benefit of vaccination along with the mother.
Several organizations had recommended the inclusion of pregnant women in vaccination. The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights had filed an application in the Supreme Court seeking priority in vaccination of pregnant and lactating women.
70% higher risk of death
According to the report, pregnant women are 70 percent more likely to die from Kovid 19. Vaccination will protect the mother from corona, while antibodies in the child have also been confirmed in many cases.
