Delhi HC issues summons to Baba Ramdev, advising him to refrain from making rhetorical statements about allopathy. The court told Ramdev that ‘you should promote Coronil, there is no problem but avoid making such statements regarding allopathy’. The court said this during the hearing of the Delhi Medical Association’s petition. The next hearing in the matter will be on July 13.
The association had said that the statement Ramdev is giving in public is harming the image of science and doctors. The High Court has sought answers from Ramdev and others. Apart from this, the court has also sought answers from many social media organizations including Twitter, media channels.
On 1 June, the doctors of Delhi performed
Ramdev made many statements regarding Eloopeth in the past. Angered by this, doctors across the country are constantly demanding action against him. Resident doctors across the country celebrated ‘Black Day’ on 1 June. In a viral video, Ramdev was seen calling allopathic medicine as useless and a farce. After this, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) had expressed deep displeasure.

Then Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan wrote a letter to Ramdev and asked him to withdraw the statement. Harshvardhan had written a letter to Baba Ramdev and said, “The countrymen are deeply hurt by your remarks on allopathic medicines and doctors. Your statement disrespected the corona warriors. It is unfortunate that you describe allopathic medicine as a farce, useless and bankrupt in corona treatment. I do not consider the explanation sufficient. Therefore, you will withdraw your objectionable statement.” On May 23, Ramdev wrote a letter to the Health Minister asking him to withdraw the statement.
