Mau MLA Mukhtar Ansari was produced through video conferencing from Banda Jail in an arms license case obtained at a fake address. This virtual appearance took place in Mau’s court. During this time, Ansari has reiterated that the facility of physiotherapy in the jail has not been given. He said that the Supreme Court has ordered the facility to be given to him in jail.

Mukhtar’s lawyer Daroga Singh had filed an online application and requested him to provide some facilities while apprising him about the health of Mukhtar Ansari. In his application, it was mentioned that Ansari was suffering from blood pressure, sugar, hypertension and back pain. However, air cooler and mosquito nets have been provided to Mukhtar Ansari in Banda Jail. In the application, it was said that a cemented platform should be available in place of hard bed.

Physiotherapist facility only once: Advocate
Mukhtar Ansari had earlier requested the court to provide physiotherapists citing health. Mukhtar’s lawyer told NBT Online that since his client was shifted from Punjab’s Ropar Jail to Banda Jail in UP, he has been given physiotherapy facility only once.

An FIR was lodged against Mukhtar and his close relatives at Mau’s Dakshina Tola police station. Mukhtar lobbied to give arms license to some of his close ones on the MLA’s letter pad. Later in the investigation it came to light that the license holders had entered their addresses wrongly.
