New Delhi
In view of the situation of Corona epidemic, a petition has been filed in the Supreme Court demanding the cancellation of the 12th board examination. The application filed in the Supreme Court states that the Central Government, CBSE and CISCE should be instructed to cancel the 12th paper in view of Corona. It has also been said that the results should be declared on the basis of objective methodology within the stipulated time.

A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court demanding cancellation of the 12th board examination in view of the situation arising out of the Kovid-19 epidemic. This petition, filed on behalf of advocate Mamta Sharma, urges the cancellation of the 12th examination as well as the declaration of the results of the students on the basis of ‘objective methodology’ within a stipulated deadline.

The petitioner has stated that the notification was issued on 14, 16 and 19 April last month and the examination of class 10 was canceled while the examination of class 12 was postponed. The petition states that the 12th paper should also be canceled by issuing instructions. Last year’s order of the Supreme Court was also cited in which the Supreme Court had canceled the Class 12 examination last year and the first students were asked to declare the result on the same basis as the number they had achieved in the grading.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has indicated that the 12th board examinations may be canceled. An Education Ministry official said that the current situation will be reviewed by CBSE in two weeks. The Alternative Assessment Scheme will then be considered. However, sources in the education department say that the CBSE 12th board examinations can be canceled. The official said that the final decision regarding the 12th board examinations will be taken only after the review meeting to be held in June. The official said that there is no possibility of conducting the examination soon.
